In this episode, Terry and Scot pick up a new topic of conversation: Grace, God’s unmerited favor. They take a look at the life of Joseph, an Old Testament character who walked in favor throughout his life. Joseph was the favorite son of Jacob (as known as Israel) and Rachel. The favor of God was upon his life, through every hardship and promotion.

What do we learn by studying Joseph’s story? We are the apple of God’s eye. His favor is upon each one of us, just as it was upon Joseph. The finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is God’s ultimate expression of his favor. God sees us through the eyes of grace, his unmerited favor.

Scriptures to meditate on:

Romans 15:4 “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.”

2 Corinthians 9:8 “8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”
